back in Singapore for more than a month! =)

It has really been a long time since I've blogged. This blog has officially been dead for the past 7 months partly because happy times are busy times too. I had little time to update each and every events during my half a year exchange program in China. Nonetheless, whatever happened in China: the places I've been to, the people that I've met, the lifestyle which I've led and etc will always be deeply etched into my mind. People always come and go, but it is the fond memories that will stay no matter where we are right now. =) The pictures taken during my stay in China will always speak a thousand words.

After being away in China for 6 months, I returned home on July 11, 2010. For the first few days when I was back, feelings of emptiness and emo-ness even set in as I started to miss the company, my housemates, the freedom and the endless adventures we had whilst traveling. I was seriously having problems adapting to SG culture as my half year of stay in China had already transformed me into a chinese. Whatever unglam stuff I did in China shall stay there. On a few occasions, I gotta keep reminding myself that I'm no longer in China.

Well, life in China and Singapore is pretty similar for me, in the sense that life is still busy as usual. In China, mon-thurs were spent interning, Fris and Sats attending classes and Suns shopping, travelling, gathering at friends' houses for steamboat/card games/movies.
In Singapore, I'm still busy with FYP, temp assignments, tuitions, volunteer, IT classes, yoga, running, swimming and of course gatherings with people whom I've missed when I was away. This was especially so in the month of August. I can't believe that I only have 2 rest days for the remaining days of Aug before school starts.

Life in Singapore is indeed fast-paced, unlike the times when I was backpacking in Yunnan, where life is so relaxed with no troubles on my mind. They always say that the grass is greener on the other side but for me I will say that Singapore is truly where I belong. After all, all my friends and loved ones are here and the country has really done well to ensure equal opportunites for all to grow and excel. =)
